POLICY, ADVOCACY AND RESEARCH

We recognise that study of how space is organised, distributed, accessed and interpreted in the Indian context is a question of justice. The role of architecture and of professionals in the field is therefore an important one that can reimagine and recreate a more equal and sustainable world. As we urbanise, each project offers us a chance to put our ear to the ground and observe how our cities and communities are organised, how space is shared and negotiated. This is the valuable political knowledge that we create through our work. The question we ask ourselves is how to extract this knowledge out of the confines of an ‘expert’ practice and aid social change. In attempting to answer this question we recast ourselves as curators, facilitators, catalysts and most importantly, citizens.
