The project provides housing to 230 labour working in harsh climate, high altitude and a remote industrial site. The site was located at the end of the hill range, providing us with natural views to design for. There were field lines as per existing site conditions, which were taken into consideration for site development and unit designs, with minimum level interventions and ecological footprint. Units are designed as per local contour levels and multilevel plans are being used for large units. This is to reduce the site cuttings. Infilling and retaining can be employed to achieve this. We employed the technique infilling and retaining to reduce the site cuttings and design the units as per local contour levels and multilevel plans for the larger units.
