A collaborative competition entry between SpaceMatters and IBI Group for a ‘Science City’ responding to the brief for a research-oriented institution. An alternative to constructed entertainment islands, CIDCO wanted an engaging canvas for science enthusiasts and experts, students as well as the general public, to do, explore, learn and live science. This radical vision was to be realized through a Living Museum, Technology Valley and Sustainable Eco-Park.
The design was driven by a meticulously detailed Experience Strategy, through which the design sought to engage visitors in active, outdoor and hands-on experiences, offering weekend and summer camp options to young people for holistic engagement. Public magnets like theatre, food courts. library, activity labs etc in the ‘urban park’ were to be strategically inserted to capture the interest of a wider audience base.

The Environmental Strategy on the other hand aims at preserving and enhancing the natural environment. A three-fold strategy is proposed based on hydrology, vegetation and the ecosystem that respectively aimed to showcase water purification systems, preserve and enhance the natural Khargar Hills forests and strengthen connections between the hydrology and the vegetation.
